The Visitor project (2006 - ongoing) is driven by my curiosity about off-limits spaces and desire to penetrate architectural and social barriers. I occasionally succeed in addressing all by asking strangers for permission to photograph their backyard- a common metaphor for privacy and territoriality - whatever shape it might take.

Visit #23
For Visit #23, I visited strangers at the Flux Factory and made an image of the backyard that I subsequently turned into the top of a table. For the inaugural opening at Flux, 2010, I hosted strangers and offered candy dressed conceptually for the occasion. Post exhibition, I returned to the table - now a permanent fixture at Flux - to conduct an interview and I plan to continue revisiting the table in different ways.
